LAI Srl specializes in the design, construction and maintenance of plants that harness biogas and generate energy from renewable sources. Founded in 2007 in Cerreto Guidi, in the province of Florence, our company has built up more than 20 years of cross-disciplinary expertise spanning the entire plant engineering process: from workshop design to turnkey delivery and full-service maintenance on site.
We create tailored solutions for biogas, syngas and biomethane plants, cogeneration and trigeneration units, flue gas abatement and heat recovery systems, combining engineering know-how with a high level of industrial craftsmanship.
Full support at every stage of the job
Every LAI plant begins with an in-house design process involving our technical, automation and production workshop teams, all based at our Cerreto Guidi headquarters. This integrated approach allows us to control every stage of delivery—from material selection to commissioning—ensuring quality, punctuality and full compliance with customer specifications. Our range includes static and high-temperature flares, regenerative thermal oxidisers (RTOs), shell-and-tube heat exchangers, scrubbers for biogas purification, 20 to 2,000 kWe cogeneration units, landfill gas wellhead stations, containerised systems and control panels with proprietary PLCs. Every component is manufactured in our Tuscan workshop and tested before dispatch, without reliance on external supply chains.
Our first-hand experience as a manufacturer gives us a complete system-wide perspective on every project: we don’t sell standalone components, but integrated solutions in which the flare, scrubber, cogeneration unit and electrical control panel work together through an in-house developed control system.
A strong commitment to energy sustainability
This approach reduces operating costs, enables real-time monitoring of operating parameters, provides instant alerts in the event of anomalies and allows maintenance to be scheduled based on historical operating data, even for plants in remote locations.
All production takes place at our facility in Cerreto Guidi (FI), where fabricators, electrical technicians and programmers work closely together. Every delivery comes with complete technical documentation, an operating manual, CE certification and dedicated commissioning support. We serve customers throughout Italy, including farms with anaerobic digesters, landfill operators with biogas collection systems, industries with natural-gas cogeneration plants and biomethane upgrading operators. In the years following our founding, we at LAI established our service department to meet every need—not only for plant construction, but above all for plant maintenance.
